Job Descriptions
ACME Leadperson - Oversee all operations of the Acme Department. Tracking employee time and production, forecast future jobs and assist with quality and production needs. Responsible for ordering any tooling supplies and ensuring the department stays within the established budget. Work closely with engineering and quality if a problem should arise to ensure a quality product. Assist in the hiring, review and disciplinary processes. Should have good decision making skills and be able to work independently. Should have supervisory experience and 5-7 years’ experience as a set-up operator/operator.

ACME Set-Up Operator - Responsible for the set-up of Acme machines. Also responsible for running, stocking and loading the machine, maintaining proper oil and cutting fluid levels and keeping the machine clean of chip build-up. Train operators how to perform set-ups and tool changes and/or repairs. Monitor production to ensure part specifications are being met, and perform quality checks along with datamyte and SPC paperwork. Knowledge on tool grinding and sharpening. Experience should include ability to read gages and mics, and reading a blueprint. Should have 3-5 years’ of experience on ACME Gridley, Conomatic, New Britians or BSA’s.

Train operators how to perform set-ups and tool changes and/or repairs. Monitor production to ensure part specifications are being met, and perform quality checks along with datamyte and SPC paperwork. Knowledge on tool grinding and sharpening. Should have 3-5 years’ experience, ability to read gages and mics, and reading a blueprint.

A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience is preferred.

Assist Set-up Operator and/or Leadperson in doing set-ups and major tool changes or repairs. Keep accurate counts on production record and ensure SPC records are kept. A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience is preferred.

Grinding/Studer Leadperson - Oversee all operations of the Grinding and Studer Department. Tracking employee time and production, forecast future jobs and assist with quality and production needs. Responsible for ordering any tooling supplies and ensuring the department stays within the established budget. Work closely with engineering and quality if a problem should arise to ensure a quality product. Assist in the hiring, review and disciplinary processes. Should have good decision making skills and be able to work independently. Should have supervisory experience, and at least 5-7 years’ experience as a set-up operator/operator of thru-feed and in-feed grinders.

Grinding/Studer Set-Up Operator - Responsible for the set-up and operation of the grinding/studer machines. Also responsible for running, stocking and loading the machine, maintaining proper oil and cutting fluid levels and keeping the machine clean of chip build-up. Train operators how to perform set-ups and tool changes and/or repairs. Monitor production to ensure part specifications are being met, and perform quality checks along with datamyte and SPC paperwork. Knowledge on tool grinding and sharpening. Should have 3-5 years’ experience with thru-feed and in-feed grinders, ability to read gages and mics, and reading a blueprint.

Grinding/Studer Operator - Responsible for operating the grinding/studer machines and producing a quality part which meets DCP and blueprint requirements. Perform minor tool changes -offsets and troubleshooting. Assist Set-up Operator and/or Leadperson in doing set-ups and major tool changes or repairs. Keep accurate counts on production record and ensure SPC records are kept. A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience is preferred with thru-feed and in-feed grinders.

Inspector - Inspect production at various stages on a daily basis. This also includes checking parts that return from outside vendors. Maintain inspection records on all parts tested, including in-process, set-up and final inspection and PPT records for customers. Should have basic computer knowledge and 2-3 years’ quality experience in a steel-manufacturing environment. Ability to use mics., calipers, optical comparator, CMM, height and ring gages.

Others - The company also has an array of other jobs that may be open at any particular time. These jobs consist of those in our shipping, material handling, maintenance, traffic departments along with others in our office/administrative areas.



Benefits
Vacations - All full-time employees will receive paid vacation that is determined by length of service.

401k/Profit Sharing/Bonus Plan - Employees who worked 1,000 hours and have completed a one-year period are eligible to participate in the 401k and Profit Sharing plan. Standby also has a discretionary profit sharing and bonus plan.

Holidays – After completing 90-days of full-time employment, all employees will receive the following holidays with pay.

Safety Shoes – The Company will reimburse employees 50% of one pair of shoes per year. They may be purchased by the shoe vendor that visits each quarter or by purchasing them at any shoe store.

Safety Glasses – The Company will reimburse $40.00 for non-prescription glasses and $80.00 for prescription glasses for its employees every 2 years. They have the option to purchase from our current Safety glasses vendor that comes onsite every quarter or by purchasing them at any Eyeglass vendor.

Uniforms – The company provides uniforms for its hourly employees
