These parts include cast-iron encased transmissions with bronze gear drives.

For those of you who aren’t too familiar with rototillers or are in the market to buy a new one, these machines are motor-driven and have rotating blades for breaking up or “tilling” soil.  Rototillers are used to prepare soil for planting without spade digging or having to use a hoe by hand to loosen up the soil. Industry Spotlight: ABS Systems

If you are not familiar with this industry, ABS systems is just short for ‘anti-lock braking systems.’ This industry is very important to us, as its primary job is to ensure automobile safety.

An ABS brakessystem allows the wheels on a motor vehicle to maintain tractive contact with the road surface while a driver is braking, preventing the wheels from locking up and avoiding uncontrolled skidding. An ABS system is an automated system that uses the principles of threshold braking (maximizing the braking force by controlling the brake pedal) and cadence braking (steering and braking on a slippery surface) which were practiced by skillful drivers with experience in older braking systems. Since its initial widespread use in production cars, ABS systems have evolved to now prevent wheel locking under braking and also electronically control the front-to-rear brake bias.

There are four main parts to ABS systems:

1. Speed Sensors- used to determine the acceleration or deceleration of a vehicle’s wheel

2. Valves- located in the brake line of each brake in an ABS system

3. Pumps- used to restore pressure to the hydraulic brakes after the valves have released it

4. Controller- receives information from each individual speed sensor if a wheel loses traction and signals the valves to turn on and off

As time goes on, drivers are looking for more improvements on their choice of vehicle and automotive manufacturers must be able to adapt to changes for mature driver markets and emerging markets, while keeping as low costs as they possibly can with the most advanced technology.

Automakers are also concentrating on offering more optional features (which will save money on gas) even on the small and fuel-efficient vehicles in order to attract new buyers. The sale of optional features is helping them
offset lower profit margins for small cars relative to large trucks.
