-Used to mass produce large quantities of precision turned parts with a very short cycle time

-Operates by progressive and simultaneous machining on all spindles with multiple tools

-For example, bar machines feed our the bar stock to the proper length, tools advance into the work piece at the proper feed rate and properly retract when work is complete

Welcome Our Newest Addition: A Second Robot Cell

We are happy to announce that we have added a second robot cell to our plant! This second cell is very useful as it combines with some types of inspections systems that can monitor dimensional variances.  These systems then give immediate feedback on the process being performed.

Adding this second robot cell makes the detection of potential quality issues much greater and minimizes scrap. Our primary use of robots is to load/unload machines and the transfer of parts within a machining cell.

Why are these robots so productive and useful? :

-Robots produce accurate and high quality work

-Robots rarely make mistakes and are very precise

-They can produce a greater quantity in a short amount of time

-They can work at a constant speed with no breaks, days off, or holiday time

-They can perform applications with more repeatability than humans

-Robots save time by being able to produce a greater magnitude of products

-They also reduce the amount of wasted material used due to their accuracy

-Robots save companies money in the long run with quick return on investment, fewer worker injuries

(reducing or eliminating worker’s comp), and with using less materials.

Standby Screw Breaks Into the Hydraulic Hose Industry

For the first time in our company’s existence, we are providing parts for the hydraulic hose industry. We are excited to share this news, as hydraulic hose fittings are new parts we are manufacturing.  We will be dedicating 4-5 machines for this process at our Ohio facility.

453439427 (2)The hose and tubing industry covers many applications and a variety of materials are used for hose and tubing manufacturing, such as rubber, stainless steel thermoplastic, or fluoropolymer. In every case where the hose and tubing industry is prevalent, the job requires that the product keep the environment safe.

At Standby Screw, we are dedicated to manufacturing safe, high-quality parts and we are anxious to see where this new venture will lead us. Stay tuned!
