Standby Screw Breaks Into the Hydraulic Hose Industry

For the first time in our company’s existence, we are providing parts for the hydraulic hose industry. We are excited to share this news, as hydraulic hose fittings are new parts we are manufacturing.  We will be dedicating 4-5 machines for this process at our Ohio facility.

453439427 (2)The hose and tubing industry covers many applications and a variety of materials are used for hose and tubing manufacturing, such as rubber, stainless steel thermoplastic, or fluoropolymer. In every case where the hose and tubing industry is prevalent, the job requires that the product keep the environment safe.

Industry Spotlight: Chippers & Shredders

What is your main use for chippers and shredders? At Standby Screw, we manufacture parts that are crucial to the efficient operation of these machines.

wood chipperBasically, wood chippers/shredders are machines that reduce wood, for instance tree branches and trunks, into small pieces, or wood chips. What’s great about these machines is that they are often portable, mounted on wheels or frames suitable for being towed behind a truck or van.

Wood chippers/shredders are comprised of several different parts, which include a hopper, a collar, a chipper, and a collection bin. An internal power source, typically a combustion engine, is what gets these machines going.

Industry Spotlight: Power Transmission Systems

At Standby Screw, we proudly manufacture power transmission parts such as bushings, gears, worm gears, pulleys, hubs, and shafts in order to ensure that machines efficiently operate.

gear boxTransmission systems are complex, as they are an assembly of parts that include speed-changing gears and propeller shafts by which the power is transmitted. Most often, transmission refers to the gearbox that utilizes gears and gear trains to provide speed and torque conversions from a rotating power source to another device.

The most common use of power transmission is in motor vehicles, which ultimately drives the wheels.

All of the parts we manufacture for power transmission systems, big and small, are all important in the grand scheme of power transmission systems operating properly!

Industry Spotlight: Gear Motors

At Standby Screw, we are proud to manufacture gear products, specifically parts that go into gear motors. You may think you know what a gear motor is, but the extent of functionality of these parts is tremendous.

gearsGear motors are complete, motive force systems that consist of an electric motor and a reduction gear train that are both integrated into an easy-to-mount and easy-to-configure package.  This design greatly reduces the intricacy and cost of designing power tools and other machines and appliances that call for high-torque at a low shaft speed or RPM.

Gear motors allow for the use of economical, low-horsepower motors that in turn provide a strong force with low speed, such as in lifts, cranks, medical tables, jacks, and robotics.

We bet you didn’t know that gear motors could be large enough to lift a house or small enough to power a tiny clock!
